RIVER EDGE, N.J. -- A woman survived after being struck early Wednesday in New Jersey by a commuter train out of Spring Valley, authorities confirmed.
The woman was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head and shoulder injuries that initially didn't appear life-threatening after she was struck at 7:55 a.m. by the Hoboken-bound No. 1612 Pascack Valley Line train, James Smith of NJ Transit said.
Service remained suspended indefinitely between River Edge and Secaucus while NJ Transit Police investigated.
