Woman Threatens Hillcrest Neighbor With Rock, Police Say

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have arrested a resident of Hillcrest on attempted assault and menacing charges, authorities said.

The arrest came about when police responded to the report of a woman threatening her upstairs neighbor on Saturday, according to police.

Officers were advised that the suspect, whose name has not been released, was relieved of a rock by the mother of the victim, police said.

The suspect allegedly threatened to harm the victim with the rock and attempted to hit her with it, according to police.

The suspect was taken into custody; she has been charged with second-degree attempted assault and second-degree menacing, police said.

The defendant was arraigned in Ramapo Justice Court, according to police.

She was released after posting bail, police said.
