County Exec's Victory On Conservative Line Tops Rockland Primary Results

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- County Executive Ed Day fended off a primary challenge Tuesday night to keep the Conservative line.

Day, who is running for a second term, defeated Thomas Sullivan 52.5 percent to 47.5 percent, according to unofficial results from the Rockland County Board of Elections. Day will also be on the Republican and Reform lines.

In Spring Valley, Alan Simon was victorious in the four-way mayoral primary, defeating incumbent Demeza Delhomme, Emilia White and Vilar Fonvil, according to unofficial results from the Rockland County Board of Elections. Simon had 42 percent, Delhomme had 33 percent, White had 19 percent and Fonvil had 6 percent.

In Clarkstown, Adrienne Carey defeated Donald Franchino in the Town Council Ward 3 Republican primary, 63 percent to 37 percent, according to unofficial results from the Rockland County Board of Elections.

In Nyack, incumbents Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and Marie Lorenzini defeated challengers Joe Carlin and Anngela Vasser-Cooper, according to unofficial results from the Rockland County Board of Elections. Reichlin-Melnick had 36 percent, Lorenzini had 26 percent, Carlin had 21 percent and Vasser-Cooper had 16 percent.
