SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. – The Spring Valley Village Board continued its divisive ways on Tuesday as two trustees walked out of the scheduled board meeting and later set up a meeting of their own without the village mayor, according to lohud.com.
The board has engaged in numerous battles in recent months, but Tuesday’s conflict focused on the appointment of Village Clerk Kathryn Ball, according to lohud.com.
Trustees Vilair Fonvil and Sherry McGill do not acknowledge Ball as clerk and walked out of the meeting, preventing Mayor Demeza Delhomme and Trustee Asher Grossman from continuing the meeting because they lacked a quorum, according to lohud.com.
Later, Fonvil, McGill and Grossman set up another table inside the village chambers and began conducting business as Delhomme looked on from the main dais 20 feet away, according to lohud.com.
