SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- Jacques Michel has been appointed by Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme as a replacement for Alan Simon, who was ousted from his judgeship position due to charges of misconduct, according to lohud.com.

The 76-year-old Michel is the new village Justice Court judge, said thelohud.com  report.

The court, which already has Djinsad Desir and David Fried as judges, takes care of cases involving misdemeanors, traffic and violations of codes, reported lohud.com.

The retired Michel has been a part-time Rockland County deputy sheriff, a county legislator and is a minister who once ran for Spring Valley mayor, said lohud.com.
