The following story is based on unofficial results information provided by the Rockland County Board of Elections. As of 10:45 p.m., these are the results based on all 78 districts reporting.

There were several primary challenges across the county to keep an eye on Tuesday night. Here is how they turned out.

39th Senate District : Christopher Eachus received 100 percent of the vote and won the Working Families nomination.

Assembly races

97th District: Incumbent Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee faced a challenge in the Democratic primary from Thomas Gulla in the 97th Legislative District, which includes part of Ramapo and Orangetown. Results: In what was the big race of the night, Jaffee received 5,869 votes to Gulla’s 3,224, securing the nomination. There were also 31 write-ins.

98th District: There were two significant primary battles in the 98th Legislative District, which includes portions of Ramapo and Orange County: current County Legislator and former East Ramapo school board president Aron Wieder faced off against Krystal Serrano of Monroe in the Democratic primary, and incumbent Karl Brabanec (R-Orange) faced a challenge from John Allegro in the Republican primary.

Results: Wieder defeated Serrano with 1,436 votes to 339 in the Democratic primary in Rockland where there were an additional 31 write-ins. Meanwhile Brabanec prevailed in Rockland with 175 votes in the Republican primary. Allegro earned 71 votes. There were also 29 write-ins. Brabenec received 27 votes to win the Conservative Party nomination but lost to Wieder on the Independence line.

County Court Judge: There was a three-way race for an open Rockland County Court Judge seat on the Working Families line between Larry Schwartz, Pat Loftus, and Kevin Russo. Results: Schwartz won with 91 votes. Russo received 55 and Loftus received 39.

Clarkstown Town Council: Daniel Caprara defeated Pranob Thakur Jr. on the Working Families ticket, garnering 61 votes, just over 92 percent, to eventually fill an unexpired seat on the Clarkstown Town Council.

Nyack Village Trustees: It’s a split-ticket in Nyack. Donna Lightfoot Cooper and incumbent Louise Parker received 474 and 468 votes, respectively. Incumbent Don Hammond and Barbara Cohig received 429 votes and 365 votes each in what was a close race in the Democratic primary.
