SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. – Recent court testimony appears to back certain allegations against Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme, a Rockland official said, according to a report in lohud.com.
In November, state Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski, D-New City, told the media outlet that Assistant Building Inspector Jackenton Lavalasse had been pressured to issue a certificate of occupancy to a local yeshiva.
According to lohud’s latest report, Lavalasse testified in state Supreme Court that the mayor directed him to issue the CO despite concerns that safety inspections were incomplete -- and to alter a memo to disguise Delhomme’s role.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day said that based on Lavalasse’s testimony it appears that Delhomme interfered with the school’s certificate of occupancy, lohud reported.
