Asbestos Discovered In Private Chestnut Ridge School, County Says

CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y. -- Rockland County officials discovered what could be asbestos in a sealed utility closet within the Bais Yaakov Elementary School of Rockland County, according to lohud.com.

County officials discovered the substance during an inspection on Feb. 2, but allege school authorities would not allow them to test it. As a precaution, the school sealed the closet and the adjacent room. School officials also stated air samples came back negative for asbestos, lohud.com reported.
