County Fire Coordinator Gordon Wren calls the schools that haven't met code 'ticking time bombs,' News 12 said.

A visit to 55 schools across the county found that 75 percent were either lacking codes, had codes out of date or missing altogether, reported News 12.

Examples included Yeshiva Avir Yakov in New Square and the Bais Yehuda School in Monsey.
