Ramapo Police Conduct Hundreds Of School Security Checks

RAMAPO, N.Y. – School safety is one of their top priorities, say Ramapo police.

So far this year, the department has conducted 381 security checks at educational facilities both private and public.

The checks are made during school hours and after the buildings close, police said.

Police also monitor safety on school buses by observing motorists at bus stops.

They do this to ensure that drivers stop when students get on or off the bus.
