Lynch was diagnosed in August before practice began and will have an organ removed on Sept. 18 according to lohud.. He has coached the team since 2011.
In July, Lynch had been given a clean bill of health following a physical and blood work, according to LoHud.
Assistant coach Greg Grasso, who also serves as North Rockland's varsity boys lacrosse coach, will be taking over as head football coach on an interim basis this year.
