Road Scheduled For Closure In Suffern

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - There will be a temporary road closure in Suffern as contracting crews complete construction work in the area.

There will be work done in the area of Orange Avenue from Chestnut Street in Suffern.

Suffern Mayor Ed Markunas issued an alert to residents warning that on Thursday, Nov. 16 and Friday, Nov. 17, Blauvelt Place will be closed from approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as Orange & Rockland Utilities install a new gas main.

Additionally, there will be limited access from Chestnut Street to Ramapo Avenue for motorists driving vehicles with an overall height greater than 11 feet. During this period, there will be no access to Orange Avenue from Chestnut Street.

Markunas said that all restricted vehicles will have to use Lafayette Avenue to get to Orange Avenue.
