A traveler advisory has been issued for motorists, noting that construction work on the Palisades Interstate Parkway is expected to shift from the southbound to northbound lanes beginning on Monday, June 19.

From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays, all northbound lanes on the parkway will be closed between exit 15 (Old Gate Hill Road) and exit 18 (Route 6), extending through Aug. 10 while crews complete construction work.

Single lane closures of the parkway are expected to occur at approximately 8 p.m. during that time period. Officials cautioned that work may also occur between 6 a.m. and noon on certain weekdays, if permitted.

During the lane closures, there will be signed detours. Motorists traveling through the area can expect delays. Drivers have been asked to “use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.”
