A New York father of two has died following a devastating crash while walking through Central Park on his way to work, according to police and the man's loved ones.
Richard "Richie" O’Brien, of Port Jefferson Station, suffered a traumatic brain injury in the collision Wednesday, Sept. 23 and died Sunday, Sept. 27, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched for his family.
Police were alerted to a collision at approximately 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, involving a bicycle and a pedestrian on West Drive near West 84th Street, an NYPD spokesperson told Daily Voice.

A masked gunman robbed a man outside a Bergen County business over the summer before fleeing in a car displaying a bogus temporary New Jersey registration tag, authorities said.
