SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Rockland Community College Performing Arts and Campus Players present Sean O’Casey’s celebrated play "The Shadow of a Gunman" at 8 p.m. Thursday - Saturday (Nov. 19-21) in the college's Cultural Arts Theater in Suffern.
The play is set in 1920 Dublin where the characters are struggling inhabitants of a tenement during the tumultuous days of the Irish War of Independence. In this time and place of passion and paranoia, mistaken assumptions about a man who keeps odd hours creates “the shadow of a gunman," with tragic results.
The presentation is part of the Robert Flynn Irish Heritage Festival, which is funded by the Kurz Foundation. Tickets are $15 ( $12 for students and seniors). The venue is wheelchair accessible.
It's open seating; doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the play starts at 8 p.m.
