The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 34-year-old Jeremiah Hochteil, who has moved from Montgomery Street to an address on Berea Road in Walden.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Hochteil as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Hochteil had sexual contact with his 13-year-old victim in Walden in November 2002. He was convicted of first-degree sexual abuse by forcible compulsion in October the following year and sentenced to a term of six months in jail and 10 years probation. He remains under the jurisdiction of the Walden Village Police Department.
