Grandmother Dies After Acton Pond Tragedy Kills 1-Year-Old Grandson
The 75-year-old grandmother of a 1-year-old boy who died last week after an emergency at a Massachusetts park has also died, authorities said. The Acton Fire Department announced the woman’s death on Monday, Aug. 31, three days after the infant died after being pulled from NARA Pond in Acton. The infant would have turned 2 this week. Two Massachusetts residents found themselves in handcuffs in Virginia over the weekend after a Stafford County deputy allegedly caught them inside a stolen car with drugs, paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash. A teenager who died in a "horrific accident" after he was electrocuted while trying to rescue his girlfriend, who had fallen onto some railroad tracks, is being remembered for his big heart and giving spirit. A turtle was brutally abused and left to die on Long Island until it was rescued by a local animal agency, officials said. The turtle was trapped inside a cage that had been secured with zip ties and submerged underwater at Geiger Park in Deer Park, the Suffolk County SPCA said Friday, Aug. 28.
