AIRMONT, N.Y. -- Kids at the Tender Loving Kids Club, an Airmont daycare center, showed their appreciation for local law enforcement in a sweet display on Tuesday, as officers from the Ramapo Police Department took them up on an invitation to visit.
"It went really well," daycare owner Luann Dinino told Daily Voice. "The children and officers were both intrigued by it."
"The children drew pictures and wrote thank you notes and presented them to the officers," the department noted in a Tuesday Facebook post.
"The kids were so excited to present cards to them, and to present coffee and donuts as they came in," Dinino said.
Officers brought a K-9 unit, which the kids loved -- as well as the sirens and seeing police cars up close. The officers, who came throughout the day, also discussed topics like 911 and stranger danger.
"It was a wonderful experience for the kids," Dinino added.
"The Ramapo Police Department is grateful for the invite and the continued support from our community," the department noted.
