At 11:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, officers responded to Route 206 and Patricia Drive, where a Lake Hopatcong woman was found lying in the roadway after she was struck by a white Mazda while attempting to aid the injured animal, Mount Olive police said. The woman was airlifted to a hospital, while the driver, a 29-year-old Flanders woman, remained on scene and was not injured, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
