RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A cement truck took down power lines on Route 59 just west of College Road on Wednesday, causing live wires to land on the truck, according to Ramapo police.
The cement truck driver was directed to remain in the vehicle for his safety until employees from Orange & Rockland Utilities and the Tallman Fire Department could respond to the scene, police said.
O&R employees were able to remove the wires without incident and no one was injured, police said.
Route 59 was briefly closed while the crews made the scene safe.
