Rockland County is a diverse and welcoming community, and we are proud of our rich history of immigration. But, my first priority is to protect the safety of our residents.

As such, I oppose the acceptance of Syrian refugees until security and safety are adequately addressed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State.

I call on our Congressional delegation to advocate for the strongest possible screening process, making certain that all refugees are subject to the highest level of security checks of any category of traveler to the United States.
