SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- Former Spring Valley Mayor Noramie Jasmin has begun serving a four-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Alderson in West Virginia, according to lohud.com.
The disgraced former mayor was found guilty of extortion and wire fraud after selling her Village Board vote on a $12 million development near the village municipal complex on Route 45 for $5,000 and 50-percent ownership of the building, according to lohud.com.
Jasmin, who was found guilty in April 2015, was supposed to turn herself over to authorities on Nov. 1. That date was later pushed to Feb. 1 and then delayed further, according to lohud.com.
