Boy Hit By Car Near School Bus, Say Ramapo Police

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A 7-year-old boy was hit by a motor vehicle on Ellish Parkway on Monday morning, according to officials in the Ramapo Police Department.

An investigation revealed that the boy was crossing Ellish Parkway to get on his school bus when he was struck by a the vehicle, police report.

The vehicle was operated by a 36-year-old Spring Valley man, according to officials.

The man, who had a dashboard camera in the vehicle, permitted the investigating officer to view the film footage of the accident, officials report.

The footage revealed that the school bus had its flashing lights and stop sign activated at the time of the accident, according to police.

The motorist was issued a summons for passing a stopped school bus, police report.

The boy was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Hatzoloh Ambulance in stable condition, according to officials.
