ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - Two passengers in a Spring Valley cab chose “trick,” not “treat” on Halloween night, pulling a knife on their driver before making off with cash, police said.
Officers from the Ramapo Police Department received a report of a knifepoint robbery shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night in the vicinity of Elm Street in Spring Valley.
Police said that the cab driver told them that he picked up two people in a different part of town, and upon completion of the fare on Elm Street, they exited the vehicle, approached him and demanded money. The driver handed them an undisclosed amount of cash and the two suspects fled on foot.
Patrol officers at the scene, K-9 Units and detectives from the Rockland County Bureau of Criminal Investigations searched for the suspects without success. Police said that the case is under active investigation.
