RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A woman reading an article on her cellphone ran into the back of a Ramapo police car that was stopped in traffic on Forshay Road on Wednesday.
The officer, who received minor injuries, was stopped in traffic when the 30-year-old Monsey woman rear-ended his marked patrol vehicle, said Ramapo police.
He was transported by the Ramapo Valley Ambulance squad to Good Samaritan Hospital, police said.
The woman told officers she was reading an article on her phone when the accident occurred. She was not injured. She was issued tickets for use of a portable electronic device while driving and following too close, police said.
