On Thursday, Cuomo congratulated 192 new members of the state police, who have each graduated from the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy. The new troopers will report for field duty on Friday, and will undergo a 10-week evaluation under a field-training program supervised by senior Field Training Officers.

“These new Troopers have dedicated themselves to protecting the people of New York State,” Cuomo said. “I commend these men and women for their hard work over the last 26 weeks and wish them luck as they start their careers and continue the fine tradition of the New York State Police. Our state is safer with these members joining the ranks and enforcing our laws.”
