RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley man was arrested by Ramapo police on Wednesday after he punched and broke a window at a educational facility in New Hempstead.
The unidentified suspect, who injured his arm in the process, was charged with criminal mischief, police said.
Later in the afternoon, Ramapo police were called back to the same school when another person, who had been told to stay off the property, was found on the school's grounds. The Hillcrest man was charged with criminal trespass.
In a third arrest, a 28-year-old female from Stony Point, was taken into custody for having two outstanding warrants from the towns of Clarkstown and Haverstraw.
Also on Wednesday, Ramapo police handled 172 calls for service including:
- 17 alarms
- 5 fire calls
- 8 medical emergencies
In addition, officers investigated 15 motor vehicle accidents in the following areas: Monsey (5), Airmont (3), Park Crest, Chestnut Ridge, Montebello, Wesley Hills, Northeast Ramapo, Viola, and Pomona. One accident involved injuries and five accidents were hit and runs.
