In a statement Thursday, the police department thanked the news media for running information and photographs of the vehicle but did not elaborate on where, or how they located the car.

Earlier Thursday, Ramapo Police Chief Brad Weidel announced the arrest of a Spring Valley man in connection with the shooting that left another Spring Valley man in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head.

During a press conference, Weidel revealed that Hakeem Gentles, 22, was charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault for shooting Rem Louis, 23, of Spring Valley.

He added that Louis was using the cab for personal use and had at least two passengers when the white Toyota Camry -- with at least two people inside -- drove up to the driver's side of the cab and fire at least one shot, hitting Louis in the head.

Police said they don't believe that Louis was the intended victim.

Gentles is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $1 million bail.
