Ramapo Detective Lieutenant Mark Emma Calls It A Career

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- After more than 30 years of serving the residents of Ramapo, Detective Lt. Mark Emma retired from the police department on Monday.

Emma, who had a voice that sounded 20 years younger than his age, began his law enforcement career in 1984 with the City of Middletown Police Department before joining Ramapo in July of 1986. 

During his time with the department, he served as police officer, sergeant, patrol services sergeant, patrol lieutenant and detective lieutenant. 

As Detective Lieutenant, he supervised several high-profile cases, bringing them to a successful conclusion. 

The department thanked him for his service with a ceremony on Monday.
