Ira Bernstein along with his girlfriend Kelly Gribeluk, 36, of Airmont, were accused of hiring a hitman for $100,000 to run over Bernstein's wife, Susan Berstein.

Gribeluk received a four to 12-year sentence for her part in the murder-for-hire plot, said the DA's office.

Videotapes, audio recordings, and wiretaps showed the duo plotting the killing with another man, offering to pay him $100,000 to run her over with a vehicle. The supposed hitman later became a witness against them.

Bernstein pleaded guilty in January to first-degree conspiracy and two counts of fifth-degree conspiracy.  Gribeluk pleaded guilty in September to a first-degree conspiracy charge.

During Wednesday's hearing, Susan Bernstein accused her former husband of "being evil," and said he didn't care if the couple's adult disabled daughter was killed or injured as well.

Both told the judge they were remorseful for their actions before sentencing.
