Spring Valley Fire Highlights Building Code Problems

SPRING VALLEY, N. Y. -- Everyone made it out safely from a fire at Division Street building Friday night, Aug. 5, but a number of building code violations were discovered by firefighters, according to News 12 Westchester.

Firefighters battled a blaze at a house on Division Street Friday and found several building code violations, News 12 Westchester says.

As many as 17 people live at the house, including several children. Responders found a front door that was boarded up as well as illegally built walls inside, News 12 Westchester says.

State officials are working with Spring Valley staff to make sure buildings are inspected, News 12 Westchester reports.
