Officials said that in November and December last year, the Ramapo Police Department received several reports of larcenies from vehicles throughout the villages of Sloatsburg and Suffern, with suspects looting the cars.

Police said that an investigation including detectives from Suffern, Sloatsburg and Ramapo led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Sloatsburg resident - whose name has not been released - and is now facing several counts of larceny.

In a statement on Facebook, police said that “the Ramapo Police Department would like to remind residents not to leave valuables in their vehicles and to always lock your car doors.”
