ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - It took police in Ramapo less than an hour to track down a Rockland County woman who was caught red-handed allegedly using a stolen credit card at a local convenience store.
A man reported to investigators at the Ramapo Police Department on Sunday afternoon that he had lost his credit card and that it was recently used at a local store, prompting an investigation.
Police said that the officer that took the report responded to the store and reviewed the surveillance video, leading to the identification of a suspect, who was subsequently located and arrested by the officer an hour after the initial report from the victim.
The woman, a 31-year-old from Airmont whose name has not been disclosed was arrested and faces charges of fourth-degree grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and identity theft. She is currently being processed at the Rockland Police Department on the charges and is due back in court later this year.
