RAMAPO, N.Y. -- An Airmont woman tried to pull a switch-a-roo on cops when she attempted to trade seats with her passenger on Sunday in order to avoid being nabbed for driving drunk, according to the Ramapo Police Department.
The unidentified 22-year-old woman was arrested for driving drunk at twice the legal limit after she was stopped by Ramapo officers on Route 59 for driving in an unsafe manner, police said.
As the officer was approaching the vehicle, he noticed the driver trying to switch places with her front-seat passenger, police said.
The woman was driving on a suspended license due to a prior DWI charge and when tested, her blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit, police said.
She is being held on $10,000 bail at the Rockland County Jail.
