Rainfall Totals: These Spots Hit Hardest By Slow-Moving Storm System
The storm did not have to move fast to leave a big mark.
A slow-moving, moisture-rich system dumped widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches across parts of the Northeast over Sunday, July 5, and Monday, July 6, according to the National Weather Service.
Some isolated spots in New York and Connecticut approached 8 to 10 inches, especially where heavy downpours moved over the same areas more than once.

More than a decade after police say he struck a woman with his car, fled the scene, skipped court, and left the country, a Herndon man is finally back in custody after being arrested at Dulles International Airport.
