3 Boaters Rescued After Vessel Sinks Off Westchester County Coast Three boaters were rescued in Long Island Sound off the coast of a Westchester County island after their vessel sank and left them stranded for about 45 minutes, police said.   The rescue happened off Manursing Island in Rye on Sunday, Aug. 23, after authorities received reports of people shouting for help, according to the City of Rye Police Department.  The department's Marine Unit responded along with the Westchester County Police Marine Unit and found three people in the water. Police learned their vessel had sunk around 45 minutes before rescuers reached them. …
