Robert Lingl, 57, and his daughter, 21-year old Bethany, were arrested in Florida and Newtown respectively on multiple charges after police discovered the pair had stolen materials and packaging from SMT on High Bridge Road, where both were employees. Monroe Police Raise Funds For Special Olympics MONROE, Conn. – Officers from the Monroe Police Department participated in a Torch Run on July 1 for Special Olympics Connecticut. The group was able to raise over $3,700 in the span of three hours. Team members were led by Sgt. Peter Howard, who also worked with Officers Justin Desiderato, Todd Keeping, Chris Silkman, Omar Wahib, Michael Johnson, Michael Panza and Michael DeCarli.

Stamford Woman Faces Animal Cruelty Charges STAMFORD, Conn. – A Stamford woman was arrested by police on animal cruelty charges after turning herself in this week, according to the Stamford Advocate. Summer Parkman, 32, was charged after Animal Control Officer Michael Franzetti seized her abandoned dog during a search of her Taff Avenue apartment in January, the Advocate said. Parkman was contacted by Franzetti and made plans to be interviewed and never showed up, reported the Stamford Advocate. Police Investigate Chestnut Ridge Car Accident; Driver Injured CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y. – Ramapo police are investigating an early Tuesday morning car accident in which a driver was injured in Chestnut Ridge, according to lohud.com. The driver was trying to navigate the turn at the corner of Scotland Hill Road and Scotland Road and hit a tree around 5 a.m., lohud.com said.
